The Round Table and the knights and King Arthur
About the Round Table The Round Table was given to Guinevere's and Arthur as a wedding gift. Guinevere's father King Leodegrance gave the Round Table as a wedding gift. The Round Table could fit 300 knights at a time. But in different stories there only 150 seats at the Round Table. At frist only 13 people could sit at the table at a time and one of those chairs were the Perilous chair. Every year the knights had a feast at one of the feast Arthur couldn't eat until he help someone out. Then a man came in said I have 3 wishs one I will tell you now and the others I will tell in a year. The frist wish was to live in the kitchen so Arthur said yes. Arthur said to Sir Kay to give him in the kitchen so Sir Kay did. Sir Kay named the kichen boy Pretty hands because didn't have a name. A year has came and they had there feast like they do every year ,and a lady came in askedif him will send a kinght of the Round Table to come save her sister from Red Knight. Then came in Pretty Hand asked for his second wish that was to go save Lady Lion. The lady how came in stomped her foot and said I asked a knight From the Round Table not a kitchen boy. Well Pretty boy became a knight of the Round Table and his name is Sir Galahad.
The Seat of death The seat of death had a name it was Perilous Seat. No one could sit in the seat without dying. The seat was left vacated most of the time. Merlin had warned Arthur many of times if a other knight sit in the chair they would deid. Only the worlds best knight could sit in the chair without deid. There had to be a knight who sat in the Perilous chair or was there? The knight who sat in the Perilous chair was Sir Galahad or as Sir Kay calls him pretty hands.
The Oath of the Round Table Arthur made the knights of the Round Table had to follow an oath. The oath was I will be kind to the weak,
I will be brave against the strong,
I will fight all who do wrong,
I will help those who call me for help,
I will harm no woman,
I will help my brother knights,
I will be true to my friends,
I will be faithful in love. The knights of the Round Table had to follow this oath. The Status of the Round Table The status of the Round Table it was to be said that any knight how sat at the Round Table would be equal. It did't matter if you sat right my Arthur or if you were at the end of the table you were just as equal to the knight sitting by Arthur. That is why the Round Table is round so every knight who sits here or man they are equal.
The tournaments of the Round Table Like very thing else the Round Table did have tournaments. The touranament featured jousting, dancing, and feasting. As you now every sport or touranments had to creater well people think various knights of the round Table probably made up the Round Table Tournaments. Who made the Round Table? As you know some one had to make the Round Table right. Well yes someone did make the Round Table it just didn't appear before there eyes. Well Merlin Arthur magical friend and advisor or mostly helper. Yes Merlin did make the Round Table but not for Arthur for his father King Uther Pendragon by when he deid he gave it to Guinever's father King Leoderannce. But when King Leoderannce was going to give Arthur a wedding gift he ask what he wanted and Arthur asked Merlin what he should ask for and Merlin said he has the Round Table and he asked for that as a wedding gift so that is what he got.
The some of the first picks of the Round Table Arthur didn't pick the frist five knights Merlin did. Some of the every first picks were Sir Kay, Sir Ector, Sir Percivale, Sir Bors, and Sir Gareth. But you got to remember not every Knight could sit at the Round Table. So Arthur had to pick the bravest, strongest, and a knight to help his brother knight. So not all knights were picked to sit at the Round Table. The knights that were pick were the best of the best.
